Lego is Building a Green Future

Green Legos

There are plenty of companies out there looking to reduce their carbon footprint, and Lego is looking to step up their eco-friendly game. The toy block mogul has planned to invest roughly 10 million dollars a year over the next 15 years. Lego is hoping to create a more environmentally friendly brick while improving the sustainability of their packaging.

In addition to their latest efforts in going green, they have also invested in the environment by reducing packaging sizes and implementing wind power. Lego has even cut loose vendors that do not align with their environmentally friendly efforts – dropping a 50 year relationship with Shell over Arctic drilling.

Going green is an investment, but you do not need $150 million to do it. In fact, there are many ways in which smaller corporations are reducing costs while helping the environment. For example, solar panels, telecommuting, recycling, and electronic document management are all ways to help reduce costs, improve efficiency, and help the environment.
