- Measure: Begin collecting your data. This is a critical step for both pre and post process improvements.
- Analyze: Interpret collected data to determine optimal process improvements. Data analysis should be a continued process in order to maintain consistent process improvements.
- Re-design: Make changes to your process in order to address bottlenecks or other shortcomings discovered by process measuring /analysis.
- Implement: Select and implement improvements proposed in your re-designing phase.
- Monitor: Continue to watch and collect important metrics for ongoing control and insight into processes. Monitoring your processes is the only way to accurately identify a successful BPM initiative.
- Automate: When a process becomes incredibly efficient, it may be time to consider automation. By automating a process, you are able to further increase its efficiency. Automation will allow your staff to perform multiple tasks simultaneously – saving your organization time while further improving effectiveness.
